I only just found out that John Terry is the really REALLY REALLY mad about sex. I mean all men are but after hearing that he slept with 8 women behind his girlfriend's back is a little sick. But at least he's a good player. His 'energetic' sex life certainly has boosted his confidence and he's one of the best defenders in the world. I actually thought that Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard were more into sex but actually, Terry's is a 'love rat'. He can't live without sex. Well go Terry, you can have sex with as many chicks as you want but just play well. That's your only requirement.

It's showtime!!

The time has finally come for tennis fans - the Australian is about to commence in 2 weeks' time!! Yay!! In my opinion, the women's draw will be much more tougher than men's considering the emergence of young talented players(kirilenko, vaidosova, ivanovic and safarova etc). These young players will be up against the established players (clijsters, sharapova, williams' sisters, davenport, mauresmo, dementieva).
Arguably, the women's tennis at the moment is the TOUGHEST and DIFFICULT sport to become no. 1 in. Any player in the top 20 probably could win a grand slam if they're having a good day. That is how difficult it is. That is probably why women's tennis players are the highest paid athletes in the world. There's also glam - Sharapova, Venus Williams' outfits, model lookalike players etc - inspired by Anna Kournikova while sports like golf only have muscly stars - Annika Sorenstam (Yuk... is she half-male?) with the exception of Michelle Wie.
Anyway, I'm so going to be looking forward to the Australian Open and checking out the outfits that the players will wear this year. Hopefully, the popular colour isn't yellow like last year. Well, it's good bye for now - my blog fans - or tennis fans, and it is SHOWTIME!!!

Almost Christmas

Santa, can I please have an iPod nano and a less annoying brother next year for Christmas???
Yes, it's that time of year again. And yes, I'm becoming cliched. First of all, I want to CONGRATULATE Ji Sung Park for scoring his first goal for Man-U. I'm sure that goal meant a lot to you Ji, and it will probably boost your goal scoring morale. (hope Fergie's pleased)
I also would like to CONGRATULATE myself for becoming the world's biggest procratinator. Surfing on the net for hours have taken its toll, and as a result my bum bulges out whenever I'm sitting on a stool. BREAKING NEWS.
Ok, after watching a video clip of 'Sam' , I can confidently say that he is 'UGLY'. No offence, I mean that's how you became famous anyway. I didn't think that there would be a more ugly creature than my dog, Chardon but I guess she's not bad - actually a beautiful ridgeback compared to the Chinese breed, Sam - it turns out that there is no ACTUALLY was an ugly dog.
Ewww, Sam really does remind me of Austin Powers - there's a stark contrast between the two. The yellow chipped teeth, the grin and the hairlessness. Austin Powers was hairy but Sam wasn't. So that's what makes the difference. Well, well good bye Ugly sam. Not literally. It's got the lyrics to every single song that you want to find and the best of all, the website is yellow!!! Yes, the first impression is always the most important -for me anyway. I sung along to Kelly Clarkson's 'Because of You' and I'm getting better at singing now!!! I'm so glued to the computer that I can't do anything else but SING, SING , SING like a Superstar! To be honest, Kelly Clarkson's songs evocate a lot of sad emotions and broken reationships, but I find that touching.. Hmmm, my only complaint is : 'Kelly why didn't you come to New Zealand?' Apparently, her voice was in a terrible condition that she couldn't afford to risk her reputation by singing in a small country like New Zealand. Apparently, she's in a serious realtionship with a rocker, from this band called......(weird name)
I won't elaborate further on this - and will move onto my GOALS for the holidays

1. Go to the gym every SINGLE, day (even when I can't be bothered I'll PHYSICALLY get myself there)

2. Get my driver's license (no, I've never touched the steering wheel in my life, nor have I sat in a driver's seat)

3. THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL OVERALL:
Lose Weight
I've said this so many times, but it's got to happen this holidays.
I'm going to lose 5 kg so I can weight 55kg and look normal and have bones sticking out my body. (Just kidding- I'll lose enough kilos to look good)

Foo Fighters!!

Yay! Oh well, I'm not that into rock anyway... "You and me" by Lighthouse. It hasn't hit the top 10 charts yet in NZ, but it will SOON!!!
I love the lead singer's voice... I'm here. I was reading the Secret Life of Bees the other day (to be honest, I read it 5 months ago) and I found this amazing quote
'was it the wounded places down inside people that sought each other out, that bred a kind of love between them?'
I fully agree with this, when people are going through tough times, they seek comfort, and LOVE. Nice isn't it? Lovely discovery by Lucy Ickyschnickel. Did I finally spell my name right?
Kelly Clarkson's lyrics also reflect this idea - well sort of. Her heart's kind of been broken and she really can't deny it. I'm becoming increasingly annoyed that people aren't reading my blogs. I mean even Jamie the homeless (aka Jamie McCoy) has thousands of admirers from around the world. I don't see why people don't read mine when it shines in every aspect!!
Well I'll leave you all VIEWERS with this...
Sadness breeds love
Grief brings romance

ADVERTISING intruders???

2 comments - I clicked it twice and surprise surprise, someone MISUSED the comments box by advertising some random mortage deal or something. You know why I like these days? It's the best time to pig out!! I met heaps of people and talked and talked. The conversation topics were quite random - about weight loss, God and food!! My answer to the questions were 'Yeah, I exercise once a week.' and 'Oh, I love spaghetti bolognese'. I never thought that it would be so fun talking to old people - they're very good listeners and have good stories to tell. Maybe I shouldn't be so ignorant.
Surprisingly enough, about 3/4 of the people were old. Literally old. Lucky enough though there were 2 girls of my age and I chatted them up about the 'ball, yes that day' and 'cars, well I went through a phase when I would scream and yell for nice cars'.
hA hA HA vERY FUNNY.. OK NOW THESE ITALICS ARE REALLY ANNOYING!! i CAN'T GET THEM OFF!! That's better. Well what a night I've had today - right now my stomach's bloated and I can't do much except walk around before going to bed. I can't afford to gain another extra kilo! My weight's already creeping up!!! The scale never lies! (unless it's not set to zero) Ok, time for some 'walking baby~~~'

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://speccychick.blogspot.com/2005/07/oh-what-night.html' title='Oh! But I've realised that shopping isn't a complete waste of time - it requires you to walk WALK WALK and may benefit your fitness. I mean think about it. Would you burn more calories sitting down and watching TV all day walk than around Newmarket for 5 hours? Also the stress that had piled on from doing virtually nothing in the holidays have lifted away. Phew! I think it's safe to say that I won't be going back to Newmarket soon. :)

SCHOOL BALL!!!

YOU guessed it!!! The School Ball!!! It was held on Friday and I had the greatest time. OK, let me elaborate on that. It wasn't the 'greatest' time, but at least I 'danced' and had fun. The hype and excitement that built up towards the Ball wasn't met. However, at least I got to 'strut my stuff' in front of other people. My black dress was stunning and apart from a couple of idiot girls who didn't stare at it, most people commented on how 'beautiful and elegant' it was. I'm gushing now. :) They played one of my fave. songs, well not exactly since I only heard that song 'Blame it on the Boogie' after they played - but they played 'Wonderwall' and I sang along with it!!! The photos should come out pretty good especially with my 'record breaking cheesy grin'.
Last but not the least,,, the FOOD.
one word: DISGUSTING
reason?: TO SAVE MONEY
I paid $70 dollars to enjoy my ball night and all I got was a small cup of vegetables and a cup of punch. I didn't even get a can of sprite or fanta or those nice thai noodles!!!
Oh well, stuff those organisers.
As usual, the awards went to the 'up there!' people who think they're cool - just kidding - I like them. :) I'm just glad I didn't throw up :(eyeing those people who got drunk at the pre-ball)
Bring on next year!!! I'm going to quit all this 'ball talk' now...

Pretty in Black

OMG. There's only about a month left 'til the school ball!! I'm kind of excited. Not about the food, but about dressing up and looking like 'Cinderella' for a day! Let's check the list.
Ball dress. Tick High heels. tick Being able to walk in high heels. cross Partner. cross A group to hang around with. cross Make up/Hair. cross.
It's not a very nice sight. I mean, most people in my class have already sorted out everything but look at me. I'm lazy. I don't have a job. Ok, enough said. If I want to enjoy myself at the ball, I would rather go "alone" than go with some stranger. A lot of girls are starting to incorporate the 'ball' topic into their conversations and are talking about 'invisible bras, high heels, necklaces, make up, limos...' you know the lot. At the moment getting a white pearl necklace is the most stressful for me. Mum told me that since I'm going to be wearing a black dress, I'll have to wear something light to balance it. (she knows fashion) I hope not many people are getting black dresses. It's a classic colour but it's not going to look nice if half the girls turn up in black. The photographer will have a heart attack. That's just an exaggeration but yeah, I chose black because it's a nice colour and it's not too risky. Think about it, would be turn up in a baby pink dress that you think looks nice but half the people are like 'look at her!!!'. I don't really care about what they think but anyway, the bottomline is that black is a nice colour. So those people who think they're getting emerald green or gold, think about the consequences. I'm not critising other colours or anything. I'm just expressing my opinion that to me, a black dress would be the most appropriate colour for me.

**A short frame pint sized girl wearing specs***

**A short frame pint sized girl wearing specs***

Oh no!!! There are only 33 days to go 'til the School Ball and I haven't sorted out my dress!!! To be honest, I don't have the desire to go. It's not a dying wish!!! (like some of the girls at my school.)
Let's move on. My exercise regime hasn't been going all that well and I haven't exercised properly in 2 weeks. I'm getting worried about this because so many girls at my school are involved in sports and I'm well...... nothing.
It's not my fault that I can't play any sports. I mean, I probably could easily get into the 2nd XI Soccer team but my parents are strongly against it because 1) we live too far away from school 2) I don't have good time management skills which leads on to 3) It will interfere with my school work
Although after hearing some of my friends having their soccer training at 7:00am in the morning (aaah!!!) I decided to dismiss that case altogether.
So this means that I'm not going to be playing no sport throughout my school career and when I have a job interview with the person asking me 'What did you do to represent your school?' I will simply reply 'nothing.. but I did get involved in annoying teachers'
Seriously!! That's what I'm going to say. NO, No, bad idea. I wouldn't venture into saying that.

Go Reds!! You rock!!!

Liverpool won!!! You rock!! What a great comeback and doing it in the final was just AMAAAZANG~~~~ (Put on the Liverpool accent)
To be honest, I'm a devoted Liverpool fan. I've confessed that in my previous entries - just look it up- and I knew, I just knew (days before) in the deepest core of my heart that Liverpool would walk away in triumph and keep the trophy of course. When my brother hinted to me that Liverpool had won, I was ECSTATIC!!! inside I was screaming and jumping!!!!
My dad had already watched it LIVE, (envy) so I told him not to say anything but mum wouldn't stop talking about how the Italian team won (trying to put me off watching the game). But after Milan scored their 3rd goal to lead 3-0 I thought mum had got it right. However, it wasn't to be. Liverpool came back in the second half as usual by Stevie G's header and you could see him bringing his arm up and down to surge the players and crowd on. It only took one blink of an eye for them to respond and through Smicer and Alonso's fast penalty miss reaction Liverpool were back on track. After that I convinced myself Liverpool would lift the trophy. I didn't really need to watch the rest, but the icing on the cake had to be the Reds celebrating!!
Cisse was the loudest. The spectators were just full of reds. Would you believe it? The aftermath of this!!! Turning on Sky News, the city of Liverpool was filled with red figures. I mean, every square, inch of the area that the Liverpool bus was parading around was covered. It's a spectacle that I will never forget. *tears flowing down - fake*

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://speccychick.blogspot.com/2005/05/go-reds-you-rock.html' title='Go Reds!! So not looking forward to it. You see, I'm one of those lazy arses who don't rise until 10:30am in the holidays. It's going to be hard but I'll get used to it. I haven't been very successful with my eye bags either. Even though I got heaps of sleep - I still feel tired and worn out. Oh, looks like it'll carry on until I finally go to Uni?
I was watching Mean Girls on Friday and it was the best teen movie I've ever seen!!! It was so funny and the jokes weren't cliched. There's this girl who claims to be a virgin and all the kids spread a rumour that she's lying and she attacks back: "I can't help it if I have a heavy flow and have to use jumbo tampons to also cover my wide set vagina". Ha, that was the best line. Except that it was a bit too long. It was interesting to come across "bitchy American girls" called the Plastics. The high school that was set had all these different groups like Asian Nerds, Cool Asians, The Plastics, Art freaks and unfriendly blacks.
Anyway, the movie was pretty good as a whole and have to go to sleep early today. Well yeah I kind of knew that that's what a "Women's Group" does, but I never really thought that it could be fun. This is a freaky thought - but I'm thinking of joining one when I grow old --- really old. Ha, I watched Calendar Girls today. So hilarious.... A feel good movie..... Nudity... Have I said enough? The movie was based on a true story about this man called John who dies of leukaemia and the wife and the members of the "Women's Institute" (UK's way) decide to make a
'calendar' to raise money to help these brainy experts to 'kill this nasty, snarling, disease' as Chris puts it. Oh yeah, Chris is the lady who basically 'takes over the whole Calendar making thing' and comes up with an innovative idea. After finding a porn magazine from her son's bedroom and finding a porn calendar from a man's house, she decides to do a nude calendar with all 12 women from the "Women's Institute". Throughout the film these women come up with these catch phrases, "it's not naked, it's nuuuude" and "I haven't been seen naked since '75". It's actually a really funny movie HOWEVER,,, I just think that they missed a few important parts such as dealing with "family values etc" for the ending. Even though, this Chris lady can thank her son for giving her this bright idea, her son gets depressed and lonely because his mum is doing 'weird things' and that kids at school stare at him because his mum and WI are all over the paper and TV. Mind you, I wouldn't want my mum doing a nude shoot and everyone knowing about it. It's just not right for someone her size - I would dare her to do it for a laugh though - to pose 'nude' in front of cameras.
Anyway, I had a good day watching this movie and am looking forward to another pleaser from the video shop.

End of long term Hiatus

Hi first of all -
my long Hiatus has ended and I can now relax, blog, eat like a pig etc.
My dad got me a new phone (not for me - it's for the whole family) and now when people ask me "hey what's your number" I don't have to shy away and say 'I've got no money in it' or admit that 'I don't have one'.
To be honest I'm not one of those self-conscious people who always feel that they need to get the latest tops, jeans, sunglasses, earrings or even phones. I was perfectly ok when I didn't have a phone - because all my friends were cool about it. They didn't care but now that I've got one, I don't have to go 'Oh I left my phone at home, can use yours to call my mum?'

It's the first week of the holidays and tonight New Zealand's no. 1 Drama "Lost" is on!!!
I heard that the drama's got all sorts of people - in terms of ethnic groups - in fact there's one Korean couple!! I'm so excited to hear their accents!! Ok, that sounds wrong but I just love hearing Korean-American people speak!!!

My birthday's come and gone -luckily - it ended on a high note and didn't leave me feeling "sad" or "lonely" = because due to my lovely friends, we had a party!!!

Oh yeah, I'm also going to be pigging out and watching DVDs.
Hoping to gain 5 more kg's. LOL> not - I'm aiming for the complete opposite.
I've got my fitness regime worked out -
Play soccer for 10 minutes
(well not really, just kicking the ball against the brick wall)
and then skipping for 5 minutes (depends if I can hold on for that long)
Also: Walking for an hour a day!!!

This "soccer" workout as proved very successful in my history of weight loss plans. I lost 5 kg in year. 9 (x mas holidays 2002-03 period) so I'm hoping that this will work again.
c ya

What a weekend

All these kids from church came over to our house and I basically had to play the "babysitter" role. It wasn't that bad though- thank god. The kids behaved really well actually apart from eating all the watermelons. We played lego and made battleships - ha fun. After all that "kiddy stuff" we packed up and had a race of who would put all the legos in the container the fastest. I won. Obviously. Nah.. It wasn't a race. You couldn't exactly measure this. But anyway, what was REALLY rocking in the weekend in New Zealand? Green Day and Simple Plan came to NZ!!! I didn't go of course - 'cos I'm not a big fan of them although I listen to their music and plus I wasn't that keen on getting crushed by the HARDCORE Green Day fans. Apparently Simple Plan's fans consisted of sqealing 14 to 15 year old girls. It's hard to imagine though - none of the guys there are actually that hot or good looking in that matter. I'm ashamed to say that those girls included my friends. They've been talking about the Simple Plan guys even after 4 days!!! Especially that lead singer Pierre. EWWWW he's ugly.

Williams vs. Davenport showdown

A gutsy win by Williams again. Saving about 2 match points before finally going on to win. What a great fighter she is. By the end of the first set I thought Sharapova had won the match - she took it 6/2 and then the second set - 7/5 (to Williams) - the third and final set - 8-6 yes!!!! She had won!!! I was too nervous to watch the match at 6/5 on Sharapova's serve so mum and I went for a walk (we do it everyday) . After that, I thought Sharapova had won... But no!!! Just as Davenport and Dechy match was about to start, the commentator announced "Serena Williams is alraedy through, so the winner will be facing her". I was like : WOW!!! What a great fighter!!! Shame on Sharapova for losing. She's not very good on the hardcourts.
I'm going to be looking forward to the final now!!! On the men's side, Hewitt's playing against Safin!! It's going to be highly unpredictable - because Hewitt's got the home support and because Safin played a draining match against Federer (but he played really well though) - so I haven't decided where to put the money but we'll just have to wait and see.

Semi Finals!!!

Yeeesss!!! Finally it's the second week of the Australian Open and tennis fans around the world are biting their nails to get their first view of the semi finals. Personally the women's result isn't that pleasing. After watching the Kuznetsova/Sharapova match I thought that Kuznetsova was far more talented and athletic. It was just the errors that kept her from winning. For Sharapova, well to be honest I don't think she's that good. Many people think - yeah just because she beat Serena Williams and stuff she's one of the brightest prospects but to me she's just an ordinary player. When she's playing against lower ranked players she sometimes has tough battles and I think it's not the big forehands or the backhands that she produces or the serve - I reckon it's just her "BLOODY DETERMINATION" to win. She's not even that pretty. She also calls herself 100% Russian when she speaks English with a heavy American accent. I'm also sick of her "screams" arh arh - when she's playing. People think she's mature and stuff but she giggles all the time. You call that mature? Well I'm just going to Serena Williams to win the semi finals. Sharapova isn't that deadly. Her dad pushes her too hard.

Aussie Open

Been spending most of my days watching the Australian Open. PICTURE IT... Lucy sitting on the couch, cruching away Kettle chips, cringing as her favourite player goes down, leaps in joy as the player makes a good shot and finally getting told off my her mum for watching too much telly. This has been the tradition for Lucy - for me. Ever since we got sKY DIGITIAL, I haven't missed a single tennis match, almost not one single Liverpool match and not one single All Blacks match. I guess I'm a sports fanatic but just to catch you guys on the backfoot, I AM NOT VERY FIT. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to be fit just because you love sports. So many people like sports because of its appeal (the guys yeah) and that's why I like watching tennis and soccer. Maybe for rugby the nice men are a bit rare to find but I still watch it because it's a probably a symbol for New Zealand sport. (at the moment anyway, some punters are betting that soccer will take over in 10 years) So - I've been using that quite often - but anyway I'm hooked onto the Aussie Open at the moment and will be for the next few days.

Be patient Lucy

I have to be patient. But I confess: people need to open their eyes a bit wider. They just don't give a damn about my website when it was actually dedicated to THEM (the addicted surfers of the net) The good thing about this (there's always one) is that I might as well thank people because it shows that they don't care about indulging in other people's daily lives.
School's looming and the exam results arrived with me noticing. It occured like this.
My daddio asked me to get the paper and I was like, 'yeah what ever'
When I reached the mail box I saw the envelope addressed SPECIALLY to Lucy Ickyshnickel. I almost screamed. After all those weeks, months of waiting for the results they FINALLY ARRIVED!!! Don't ask me why I did this but I actually hid the envelope in my pants (no I didn't have any pockets) and putting on a normal face I put the paper in my daddio's hands and walked back to my room (I don't actually do this and probably would have continued watching TV) but because I had the envelope, I gingerly opened the envelope (with scissors). What did I see? Piles of green A4 sheets that seeemed meaningless. So I squinted my eyes, and saw these grades:
A* A- B* C : History (Yes!!! I love my teacher!! He pushed me hard!!! Always gave me bad grades and I got good marks at the end!)

The other results follow the same pattern and don't need my SPECIAL analysis. I'm sure you little brainheads can work it out. When I go back to school I'm so going to jump over my history teacher and confront him with the words: HAHA. I GOT A*'s. BET YOU DIDN'T EXPECT THAT. YOU BIASED BASTARD.
Still elated and that grin's not going to go off - it's going to take a monster bigger than a king kong to take that off. .... HA HA HA ....
Sad ... it's a pity that I'm not taking history this year. Not always. Set goals? Um never really achieve it so what's the point? Since I've created a blog and have allowed the public to watch my day to day life, I should celebrate it like a "blogger". HAPPY NEW YEARS' DAY!!! Resolutions. Resolutions.
Well. Well. Ranked from top priority.
1) Cliche but: Lose weight (especially flatten the cheeks)
2) Make more friends (look how bored I've been in the holidays)
3) Get a job (All I do at home is watch TV -soccer- so should find a way to avoid that habit)
4) Learn to swim (oh! this is always listed but never achieved - but 2005 may be the breakthrough year)
5) Exercise more (play soccer, pretend to kick the ball, run for it, go for goal, all that crap)
6) Read a lot (read only 6 books in 2004 - my eyes are gonna get worse anyway)
7) Try harder at school (might become friends with some teachers and might do better with less time spent at the TV set)
8) Don't envy others (think about it, I'm lucky that I'm Lucy- others are far worse)
9) Watch less soccer (it doesn't help with my school grades)
10) Get my drivers' licence (soon or later my car phonia will have to go)

Traditionally I come of at least 20 every year but because- so far in my life- I've failed to achieve the resolutions I think ten's enough for me. Far too much experience to think of more. Far too many failures and just a waste of space typing more.
NB: Current weight is 60kg and to reach the normal rate will have to lose at least 5 kg.

Free Web poll for your Web site - freepolls.com

Boring Liverpool

They lost. So disappointing. The worst thing is that although Liverpool had a lot of possession they failed to SCORE!!! It shows that their strikers suck. Lucky as always Joe Cole came on as a sub and scored. There's nothing much to really talk about except that it wasn't Rafael Benetiz's fault. Basically it was the strikers' fault. Mooooving on.
Due to my dad's amazing discovery, he's found a new way to keep himself occupied. My dog's scared of Koalas. PLUSH toy Koalas. I saw dad chasing her around the backyard clutching firmly in his hand the toy Koala. Obviously very scared of the Koala, Chardon (my dog) has been hiding behind her kennel all day and I even had a go at scaring her!!! Dad's so smart. He should get a Nobel prize for "discovering a very easy and swift way to scare a dobraman-cross dog". If I hadn't gone to Aussie, who knows. Chardon could still lick my ass and jump at me whenever I lurk around the backyard. There's always humour in discovery.
By the way, who ever said "challenge me in Spanish" well I won't disappoint ya. The zoo was full of little kids! Me, mum and dad walked in the aquarium and there was a big fish tank that had all the characters of Finding Nemo were there!!! One kid shouted "There's Dory!! Dory's swimming in there!". Even I got fascinated by this kid's discovery and started taking a closer look at the school of fish. Other notable scenes included watching one of the tigers growl (like directly in front of me - 50 metres away though) and I almost squealed with delight until I realised that I was in the eye of the public. The people mostly consisted of 20-something couples with a baby (in a pram of course) and kids aged around 5 or 6. It was quite an amazing trip but the lions let me down. Where was the pride? They slept. I didn't think that the zoo would be that popular but there was no single space to park so we kind of had to climb down from a hill and take a long exercise to the entrance. My rating of the zoo: 8/10 - much better than the Melbourne one. It's packed with more people and the animals don't look as depressed. (don't blame the zoo keepers - it's their job)

Lemony Snicket

Ha ha, I watched it. After feeling so left out because while I was stuck in my pint sized house all my friends were sunbathing at the beach. Now I can shout back at them when we meet again and say "I had a holiday too! You snobs". I'll be a critic like Roger Ebert - the Lemony Snicket movie was OK. I guess the whole story is a bit dire and the way this author narrates it well kind of makes me feel that he just waffles without really planning his story. The movie starts off like this; "The movie you are going to see is not the movie you have chosen to see; it is a sad story about orphaned children who run into a series of unfortunate events". It ends like this; "The children are not unforunate but very fortunate. " and I don't know the rest.
Childish. Yes, one simple word. It wasn't that the movie's cast was bad. In fact it was really good. I've got a feeling that the girl who played Violet (Emily Browning) is part Asian. She has some Asian look and nose. Anyway she's my age. Back to my opinion on the film being childish - had I watched this movie at 12 I think I would have liked it but since I'm 4 years senior to that age, I think I've grown out of it. Just like what the review said; "A good pleaser for children. For fans who have read the books only."
Apart from a couple of things my life has been running pretty well; social activities - tick, laughing moments - tick, uniting with old mates - tick, weight loss - cross, boyfriend - cross, orgasm - cross, pants and gasps - cross.
Mum's right. Gym is the place to be for me now.

Getting off my butt

I'm proud to say that today, a friend invited me to her house.  For the first time during the holidays someone was kind enough to ring me and ask "Do you want to come over?".  My christmas holidays have always consisted of a visit to my nanna, granpa, aunty and uncle but never have I been invited to a friend's place during the holidays.  I don't blame my friends to be honest.  They're just too well off and too well fed to invite a size 12, spec wearing chick to their house during the holidays.  They have better places to go like Sydney or Melbourne than invited their "royal" friends.  While I was overjoyed and almost leaping into my dog - which I don't do very often (very scary) -  but the worse thing is that Mum's making me go to the gym.  She is smart.  One damn smart woman.  She took a very clever route and it went like this;
"Have there been any guys recently?" asks Mum, with a slight sly grin
Shocked as you'd imagine after talking about getting invited to a friend's house, I replied "No.. Why? " blushing.
"What happened to Kyran?" said mum emphasising on the name.
"I dumped him remember? He was just like every other guy" I said, getting agitated
"Like what every other guy? Demanding a super skinny girlfriend? she actually yelled from that point on. "He wasn't satisfied when you two were in bed? Didn't turn him on?" my face flushed bright red when she said that.
"How dare you!!! I'm slim! I'm size 12!" I could feel that heat burning up on my cheeks.
"You're a couch potato. All you do is eat, eat, eat and sleep!!! You never exercise, and walking isn't really an exercise because you've hardly lost weight since we walked."
"No wonder there haven't been anyone since Kyran. Maybe if you had been a bit lighter, he might have taken a second look!"
"Oh leave him out of this. Just like any other guy, you said it - they want super skinny girls. " I finally admitted. " I need to go to the gym. Is that what you're looking for?"
Satisfied with her wits, mum soothed her voice and said "You'll laugh when you've shed all that weight. Wait 'til you wear the mini skirt you got for Xmas."

I don't think there's any point in posting the entire conversation. I think you guys can figure out what the outcome was.

Well because this tsunami disaster is getting beyond the level of everyone's imagination, I'd better talk about something else. Before moving on though, the death toll is nearly 60,000 and Sky News (I've been like watching it all day - and remember the exact lines now) says that 'It is expected to reach up to 69,000. Moving on after hearing someone say that you can't get motivated to lose weight if you keep saying 'I don't want to get darkened in the sun', I've decided to quit this phrase and start exercising. Last year, I played soccer (not really but just kicking the ball really hard and then running away from my brother because he kicks it really hard back and believe me it's very painful) and shed lots of weight. To be honest, there's nothing wrong with the shape of my body, to be more precise, I'm happy with my weight and don't want to end up like those stick thin supermodels - they look disgusting. I consider myself as slim and curvy. But the setback to this is that my face has always been basically setting me back. It's like this: the fat from the food goes into my face as if the digestive system rejects the food I eat and send it up to the throat.
Yeah, but I guess my recent weight gain is due to me switching my role from being an active, sweating teenager to a grubby old couch potato watching soccer matches.
Oh well. I'd better get that skipping rope out and start jumping 'cos my height isn't looking too pretty either. There are only 2 days (or is it 3 - excuse my knowledge of time) to go 'til the New Year!!! Yaya!!! It's going to be 2005 a much pretty looking 4 digit than 2004!!! because the digits are all curvy!
I think I've written too much today. Lucy Ickysnickle closes the curtain for today..

Not another tragedy during Xmas

First the absymal Auckland weather - although the Aussies already began sunbathing when we were drenched under umbrellas. Second the South east Asia tragedy - about 25,000 suspected dead and that stat is about to be eclipsed. What better time could these tragedies arrive? The time when we're all taking a big break celebrating Xmas. But this tsunami tragedy is actually quite a significant event. It's measured at 9 on the Richter scale and is feared as the biggest

My keyboard's turning me on

My first entry isn't a proper one cuz it's kind of just explaining how "annoying" and how good I am at being a "tantrum generator" - look in the Hunua entry if you haven't - so I'm going to make THIS entry a proper one by clarifying the image I carry. Basically I'm a short girl who looks almost 5 years younger than her age - which is an advantage 'cos I can get about 20% off when going to the movies (especially when I put on the "puss" face) - who hates shopping because it's too much walking, obsessed with Soccer (yeah we call it this down here) especially with the Liverpool club, and enjoys watching rugby. One last fact: I'm multi-lingual and can speak some spanish, (hola! buenes tardes) bit of Korean (Annyeong), Japanese (Konnichiwa), French (Bonjour) and the list just goes on. Yeah in fact I'm not multi-lingual. Just got it off my mates.
Well apart from telling you guys that I'm multi-lingual, the things I've said is the real me. You'll be exposed to more of my soccer obsessions and how I link it with myself. Yip, Liverpool's playing against Chelsea in a fortnight at home. Baby I'll be looking forward to that.

starting a blog... obviously

Hunua mountains. The most excruciating hike walk ever that I've ever known. Puffing and huffing the whole time, I was like 20 metres behind my fit dad and brother. Oh how embarrassing. My dad's like "oh you can lose a bit more beef there Lucy" and at that time I was enthusiastic about going. Losing "a bit more beef" sounded good not great but those words got into the car and to Hunua. How did I find the walk? Painful. Excruciatingly, mind-bogglingly, traumatisingly painful. Actually I was shocked at how unfit I was. Come on!!! I walk with the dog everyday around my local area. But the mountains were steep. Steep as hell. (even though I've never been there of course) At one point I thought I was going to lose my foot grip and slip like a failed mountain climber. It's safe to say that the word "Hunua" will not be mentioned from my breath ever again. I'm not buying it. Let's just say that mountain climbing is just not fit for my health.
